Green Impact Student Homes (GISH)

Hopefully you have already heard about Green Impact Student Homes, or maybe seen one of the logos on our site, but if not don’t worry.

GISH is a property accreditation that landlords can achieve to show that their properties are ‘green’. To reach this they have to undertake certain tasks such as providing green information to their tenants, making sure there aren’t any draughts, re-using any suitable furniture or donating it to charity rather than throwing it away and insulating the property (where possible). These are just a few examples of the many different things the GISH properties have achieved.

Due to these changes, the GISH properties are likely to be more cost effective with bills, which means more money in your pocket. Sounds great, right?

It also helps that the landlords actually volunteer to take part in the scheme and dedicate their time to it. Yes there is an incentive for them, but they still have to put in the work. If you are also green minded and want to live in a green property, these landlords are on the same wavelength, so feel free to ask them for sustainable changes. If your landlord isn’t already taking part, and you live in a registered property, why not ask them if they are interested? We’d be happy to provide them with the information.

Make sure you keep a look out for one of the GISH logos on our property listings when searching, and feel free to speak to the team about the scheme.
