Registration Process

Smart Move Sheffield register properties which are in close proximity to the University and in areas where there is good demand- we are currently taking new offers of accommodation on in parts of S10, S11, S6, S3 and S1. If you have a property which is suitable for a student family, we will consider taking these properties on further away from the University.

In order to register your property, it will need to have Snug certification from Sheffield City Council and further details be found here. Please check with the team at Smart Move Sheffield that your property is in an area suitable for registration before you proceed with Snug certification.

Once you have Snug certification, you can set up an account online, start adding information about your property including uploading photographs and all of your certificates and the team will process your application. Alternatively, please give us a ring on (0114) 2226058 and we can send paper registration forms out to you.

Properties of the week - online
Do you want your property to be the first one a student sees when they visit our home page? If so, why not get priority advertising by purchasing the properties of the week feature which will advertise your property on our home page. Three properties will be featured each week and you can purchase 1 or all 3 of these.

The cost of this is as follows:
• £30 (in VAT) per property week or £75 for 3 properties per week peak ( Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec)
• £25 (in VAT) per property week or £65 for 3 properties off peak

Please note that properties for the next academic year can only be advertised from 01 November each year onwards i.e. properties advertised for Sept and Oct will have to be available for the current academic year.

Do you want to promote your accommodation or an accommodation related product to students at the University of Sheffield? Why not consider purchasing our advertisement banner which is located at the top of each webpage on our site. In 2016 our website had over 81,000 visits, with the peak months being August through to December with over 40,000 visits. Students carried out a total of 55,000 searches on our website in 2016, again with over 30,000 of these between August and December. This service is primarily aimed at larger providers or companies however smaller landlords are also able to purchase this service if they require.

The cost of this is:
• £400 (inc VAT) per month peak (Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec)
• £300 (inc VAT) per month off peak

There will be a total of 5 adverts which will be displayed on a rotating basis – of these 3 will be available to purchase and 2 will include internal messages/information.
